LA28 Ticket Drop 2: Visa Presale Dates & How to Register
Apologies in advance as I have been wrapped up in World Cup and kept forgetting to post this!
Missed the first opportunity to register for LA28 Olympic tickets? Good news as registration for Ticket Drop 2 is officially underway, giving fans another chance to secure seats for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
This second registration period includes an exclusive Visa cardholder presale, allowing eligible fans to purchase tickets before general sales begin.
Here’s everything you need to know.
What Is LA28 Ticket Drop 2?
Ticket Drop 2 is the second major ticket registration period for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Like the first ticket release, fans must register in advance for the opportunity to purchase tickets. Registration does not guarantee tickets but provides access to future purchasing windows.
Demand is expected to be extremely high for popular events including: Opening Ceremony / Swimming / Gymnastics / Athletics (Track & Field) / Basketbal / Beach Volleyball
Visa Cardholder Presale
One of the biggest advantages of Ticket Drop 2 is the exclusive Visa presale.
Because Visa is the Official Payment Technology Partner of the Olympic Games, eligible Visa cardholders will receive early access to purchase tickets before the general public.
As with previous Olympic Games, availability during the Visa presale is expected to be limited and subject to demand.
Good to know: If you registered for the first ticket draw but did not receive a time slot, you are automatically rolled over into future draws! With the exception that you WILL need to register for the LA28 Visa Presale (by verifying that you are a qualifying Visa cardholder!

CONGRATS! You’ve Received a Time Slot – Tips for Getting the Best Tickets
Flexibility significantly increases your chances of securing tickets. While you may have your heart set on one or two events/sports, consider getting tickets to any Olympic event you can. Because many events will sell quickly, preparation is key.
Important To Know
- Drop 2 will have tickets for every ticketed Olympic sport, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Good news – Athletics (Marathon), Athletics (Race Walk), Cycling Road (Road Race) and Cycling Road (Time Trial) are not ticketed events
- Be aware of the 12-ticket maximum per person across all sports and sessions (including if you buy for friends and family!). There are the following exceptions
- You are allowed up to 12 Football (Soccer) tickets which do not count toward the general 12-ticket maximum
- For Opening and Closing Ceremonies, there is a four-ticket limit per ceremony per account and do not count toward the general 12-ticket maximum
- Considering multiple sessions in a day? Factors you need to account for
- Travel times between venues (LA traffic compounded by Olympics), delays in entering a venue, and events running beyond their scheduled completion time
Before your purchase window:
- Decide which sports are your priority.
- Have backup event choices.
- Be flexible with sports, dates, and venues
- Consider preliminary sessions especially for popular sports
- Log in early.
- Have your Visa card ready.
- Don’t spend too much time deciding once your window opens.
RESEARCH first, be flexible and then be decisive and act right away when your time slot opens. Good luck!
