Your Guide on How to Get Tickets for LA28 Including $28 Tickets!
If you’re planning to attend the LA28 Olympic Games, now is the time to start preparing. Yes I am well aware that the games are not for another two years, but with official ticket registration dates and pricing details announced in December 2025, fans finally have a clear path to securing LA28 tickets. And the first step begins this week!
This guide explains how LA28 ticketing works, when registration opens, how the ticket draw system operates, confirmed ticket prices, and what details are still unknown.
I also included my experience with the Paris2024 ticket draws and attending the games to help highlight what the process has played out in real life =)
When Are the LA28 Olympic Games?
- The LA28 Summer Olympic Games will take place from: July 14 – July 30, 2028
- The LA28 Paralympic Games will follow from August 15 – August 27, 2028.
- Events will be hosted across Los Angeles and Southern California, using a mix of iconic existing venues such as the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, SoFi Stadium, and waterfront venues in Long Beach.

LA28 Ticket Registration Dates + Ticket Draw Info
- LA28 Ticket Registration
- Ticket registration will opens January 14, 2026 and will remain open until March 18, 2026 – register on the official LA28 site here
- Registering creates your official LA28 ticket account and allows you to participate in the ticket draw, which is required to purchase Olympic tickets.
- Important: Registration is free but does not guarantee tickets and you must be at least 18 years old
- How the LA28 Ticket Draw Works
- LA28 tickets will be sold using a randomized ticket draw system, rather than first-come, first-served sales.
- The Process:
- 1: Register for the LA28 ticket draw during the registration window: register on the official LA28 site here
- 2: After registration closes, randomly assigned purchase time slots are issued
- 3: If selected, you’ll receive a window to buy tickets online
- 4: Fans not selected remain eligible for future ticket draws
- The first official ticket purchasing windows are expected to begin in April 2026, with multiple additional ticket drops planned through 2026 and 2027.
There is no advantage to registering early within the registration period as all entries have equal odds.
*But I would personally recommend doing this as soon as you can so you don’t miss out on your chance for tickets!
What LA28 Has Confirmed about Ticket Prices
This is so nice to see especially after seeing the astronomical World Cup tickets! LA28 has confirmed that affordability is a major priority, with a large portion of tickets priced for everyday fans!
- Confirmed Pricing Highlights:
- LA28 tickets start at $28 USD
- At least 1 million tickets will be priced at $28
- Approximately one-third of all tickets will be under $100
- These lower-priced tickets will be available across a variety of sports and sessions, not just limited or restricted-view events.
- Final prices will vary based on:
- Sport and session (preliminary vs. finals)
- Venue
- Seating category

Where to Register for LA28 Tickets
All LA28 ticket registration and sales will be handled exclusively through the official LA28 website.
Once registered, you’ll receive:
- Ticket draw updates
- Purchase window notifications
- Important ticketing announcements
Avoid third-party ticket sites before official sales begin as many early listings are speculative or fraudulent.
What’s Still Unknown About LA28 Tickets
While several key details have been confirmed, some aspects of LA28 ticketing have not yet been announced, including:
- Total number of ticket draw phases
- Ticket limits per person or per event
- Full pricing tiers for premium seats
- Paralympic ticket pricing details
- Official LA28 ticket resale platform rules
These details are expected to roll out gradually throughout 2026 and 2027.
Will There Be an Official LA28 Ticket Resale Platform?
Yes. Like previous Olympic Games, LA28 is expected to operate an official resale platform that allows fans to:
- Resell tickets at face value
- Buy verified resale tickets safely
- Avoid scams and price gouging
Specific resale rules and launch dates will be announced closer to the Games. Hopefully these will be similar to what happened for Paris and Milan!
Tips to Improve Your Chances of Getting LA28 Tickets
- Register during the official window: January 14 – March 18, 2026
- Participate in every ticket draw phase
- Be flexible with sports, dates, and venues
- Consider preliminary sessions and weekday events
- Enable all LA28 ticket notifications
Flexibility significantly increases your chances of securing tickets. While you may have your heart set on one or two events/sports, consider getting tickets to any Olympic event you can.
How Does This Compare to Paris2024 (My Personal Experience)

One of the most startling differences is how early the registration period is with the games being 2 1/2 years out and with the Milano + Cortina 2026 not happening until next month! Here’s what my experience was registering for Paris2024
- I missed the original registration period
- A second ticket draw registration period was opened/the single ticket sales phase with winners being notified by email beginning May 9, 2023
- I registered for this draw on April 19, 2023
- On May 12, 2023, I was notified that I was successful in that draw and could start purchasing tickets! There were a variety of tickets to choose from but some events like Women’s Gymnastics were nowhere to be found. Ultimately I decided against purchasing any tickets since I could not find affordable accomodations
- Honestly, I don’t forget this happening with the LA28 Olympics but demand for Paris2024 was less than anticipated which had hotels changing tactics and they began opening up hotel rooms bookable on points. And there were still lots of tickets available so I decided 10 days before I landed in Paris to go! Read about how I was able to do this wanderlist trip here
But I am really happy for many of the announcements especially in regards to the commitment with # of lower priced tickets + being set at $28 and even more so that there will be an official re-sale site. I am hoping that many of the same restriction will be applied to these games as they were for Paris2024 and Milano + Cortina 2026 as they will keep the games more affordable
- For Paris2024, each account was limited to 30 tickets across all sessions (aka events) with a limit of 4 – 6 tickets per session (high demand/ceremonies were limited to 4 tickets/person)
- The official resale site only allowed for tickets to be resold at face value (for both Paris and Milan)
- The official resale site set the fees you paid: for buying resale tickets, you paid 10% over the face value / for selling, you paid a 5% fee for having your tickets sold
Final Thoughts: Planning Ahead for LA28 Tickets
With registration dates and $28 ticket pricing officially confirmed, fans now have a real opportunity to attend the LA28 Olympic Games without breaking the bank. If you want to see the Olympics in person, the most important step is simple: Register for LA28 ticket access starting January 14, 2026.
