Just make sure that you are taking care of your health since welp…it isn’t until 2196! (And if you are not familiar with Icelandic humor and spirit….this giveaway is a master showcase of this)

What is Icelandair 2196 Total Solar Eclipse Giveaway?

The total solar eclipse in Iceland has now passed. But Icelandair has marked their calendars for the next one, on June 26, 2196, and is giving one very lucky traveler a free trip to see it.

Yes, 170 years might feel like a long time to wait. Luckily, our winner won’t have to wait that long to experience Iceland. The prize also includes a trip to Iceland this September.

Terms & Conditions for the Next Solar Eclipse Giveway

Here are the key details you need to know:

  • Open worldwide to natural persons aged eighteen (18) years or older who complete the official registration form during the Promotion Period. Employees of Icelandair and their immediate family members are not eligible.
  • Complete the entry form on Icelandair 2196 Total Solar Eclipse “Website Entry Page”
  • Limit one entry Participants may submit one (1) entry by completing the official registration form. Participation is free of charge.
  • Entry Period: Begins on 5 August 2026 and ends on 19 August 2026
  • One (1) eligible entrant will be randomly selected from all valid entries received worldwide and contacted using the email address provided. If the selected winner cannot be reached within seven (7) business days, Icelandair reserves the right to select an alternate winner.

Prizes: TWO TRIPS – One for the 2196 Eclipse and One for September 2026!

  • A Gift Certificate (the “Gift Certificate”) for specified travel services for up to four (4) passengers, consisting of two (2) adults and two (2) children, to Iceland in 2196, issued by Icelandair and entitling the holder to return transportation from an Icelandair gateway and up to five (5) nights’ accommodation in a four-star hotel (or similar standard accommodation, as determined by Icelandair) in connection with the total solar eclipse currently scheduled to occur on 26 June 2196, based on current astronomical calculations, subject to these Terms & Conditions.
  • As part of the Promotion, the winner will receive a unique commemorative item provided by Icelandair. The commemorative item is symbolic in nature, has no independent cash value, is not a boarding pass or travel document, and does not constitute the legal entitlement to the travel services.
  • A Gift Certificate for return transportation from an Icelandair gateway and up to four (4) nights’ accommodation in a four-star hotel (or similar standard accommodation, as determined by Icelandair) for up to four (4) passengers, consisting of two (2) adults and two (2) children, to Iceland in September 2026 (or on such other dates as determined by Icelandair). Travel dates, accommodation, and itinerary shall be determined by Icelandair.
  • The Prize does not include any costs or expenses not expressly stated in these Terms & Conditions.

Transfer and Inheritance 

  • The Gift Certificate and the associated rights may not be sold, assigned, auctioned, exchanged, pledged or otherwise transferred, except by inheritance in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.
  • The winner may designate one or more heirs or beneficiaries to inherit the Gift Certificate and the associated rights.
  • Icelandair reserves the right to require reasonable documentation before recognizing any successor or transfer by inheritance.
