Port: Ísafjörður, Iceland (Day Ten of HAL Nieuw Statendam Nordics Cruise)

This is an overview of my tenth day of my Holland America Nordics cruise aboard HAL’s Nieuw Statendam. If you are wanting to see more details on how I spent my day in Ísafjörður, read this post about my day in the remote Westfjords region.

THE DAILY

DAY IN PORT

Day and night experience between the two other cruises I had been on and Holland America especially contrasted against the NCL Prima cruise that also went to Norway and Iceland. There is so much more communication and education with HAL

Another useful graphic with helpful highlights note that the weird shadow was because I was watching it on my stateroom TV

I personally really benefited from the port overviews and Q & A sessions that the amazing cruise and travel director, Clare, hosted! Thoughtful details such as listing all aboard times rather than just the departure to minimize potential issues.

A full day in Ísafjörður as I left the ship when allowed around 8 and returned a few minutes before all aboard time, read this post about my day in port.

Scenic Sailing Ísafjörður

One of the things that I really loved about Holland America were the commentary provided for the scenic sailings – in that they provided information that I would have never known about the places we were going to!
